The North Face is a legendary American brand, established in San Francisco by Douglas Tomplin and Kenneth Klopp, experts in climbing products, in 1966.
The brand name comes out from the technical jargon; the north face of the mountain is generally more rugged, cold and hard to climb in the northern hemisphere.
Tomplin and Klopp, after investing their resources into sports equipment, in 1980 they decided to expand the range of products, offering equipments for the extreme skiing.
The brand is synonymous with sportswear and outdoor garments for climbing and camping; technical fabrics, often waterproof and suitable for colder temperatures, have allowed the company to become a leader in sportswear for men, women and children.
In the 90’s The North Face jackets became a must-have among the young students.
