Philosophy
Roberto Cavalli is the main line of the maison founded by the homonymous Florentine designer. He is the grandson of one of the most important exponent of the Macchiaioli art movement and he presented its first collection at Salon du Prêt-à-Porter in Paris in 1970.
During the years the designer connotes his creations with their family knowledge and academic background on painting textile applications.
He focuses on washes and fabric manufactures, colour mix, glamour and original fashion, eccentric and provocative styles.
Roberto Cavalli offers unconventional outfits, sophisticated and sexy for him and for her.
Colourful blouses, asymmetrical mini dresses, chic and gypsy skirts, fur collar coats made with precious fabrics and leather, teatures a crystal, wild and charming luxury.
Initially Cavalli collaborated with famous Italian knitwear brands, designing on his works floral prints, and then he expanded his fashion range to patchwork details, geometric leather particulars, optical patterns and animalier prints: they will become Roberto Cavalli’ signature, his known and recognized style.
In the early 70’s Hermès and Pierre Cardin are interested in his creations.
In those years Cavalli invents an innovative and patented leather printing process, creating textile and coloured patchworks.
Cavalli get great successes and in '72 he opened his first boutique in Saint Tropez.
During 1994 Milan fashion week, Cavalli presented the “sand aged” jeans, his collections are required by international celebrities.
Roberto Cavalli also creates the young "Just Cavalli" line, "Angels & Devils" for children, and the brand "Class".
